Dell has offered a sneak peek at its upcoming additions to the UltraSharp line, unveiling the UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U4025QW) and the UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U3425WE).
Primarily designed for content creators, data scientists, and engineers, these ultrawide displays boast Thunderbolt hubs and high-contrast IPS Black screens with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate.
Ahead of their debut at CES this week, we had the opportunity to explore both the U4025QW and U3425WE during an exclusive preview in New York City. These monitors feature bright and vibrant screens with excellent contrast, courtesy of deep blacks.
A noteworthy feature is their quick-access ports, with a concealed bay revealing three front-facing ports (two USB-C and one USB-A) when prompted by a touch on the monitor’s bottom edge. This design resembles the port drop-down module seen on Dell’s 2023 6K super-panel, the UltraSharp 32 6K Monitor (U3224KB).
Both models boast 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratios. The U4025QW’s 40-inch screen offers a 5,120-by-2,160-pixel resolution, while the U3425WE’s 34-inch panel provides a resolution of 3,440 by 1,440 pixels. Utilizing IPS Black technology, the screens achieve a 2,000:1 rated contrast ratio, double that of standard in-plane switching (IPS) panels.
Both panels cover 100% of the sRGB color space, with the U4025QW also rated for 99% of DCI-P3, and the U3425WE boasting a 98% DCI-P3 rating. The U4025QW holds a VESA-certified DisplayHDR 600 rating, supporting up to 178-degree vertical and horizontal viewing angles. The stands offer height, tilt, and swivel adjustment.
Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 4 (with up to 140 watts of power delivery), USB-A, DisplayPort 2.1, and HDMI 2.1 ports for the U4025QW, while the U3425WE features Thunderbolt 4 with up to 90 watts of power delivery, USB-A, DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI ports. Both monitors include an RJ45 Ethernet port supporting PXE boot, MAC address pass-thru, and Wake on LAN features.
These monitors can leverage the Dell Display Manager utility to tile multiple windows and support efficient multitasking with Picture-by-Picture, Picture-in-Picture, and KVM functionality. The built-in KVM function enables easy switching between two PCs from one set of input devices.
Dell has announced that the U4025QW will start at $2,399.99, while the U3425WE will start at $1,019.99, with sales set to commence on Feb. 27. Stay tuned for our upcoming tests and reviews of these promising additions to Dell’s UltraSharp lineup.
